The Horde, directed by Jared Cohn and written by Paul Logan, is a cross between The Hills Have Eyes and Rambo. It’s high-octane action combined with horror. The star, Paul Logan first dealt with mutants, of the fish variety, in Mega Piranha. Now, he faces mutants once again in The Horde.
Logan stars as John, a former Navy Seal, joining his girlfriend and her photography class on a camping trip deep in the woods. On the way to their camping site they stop for a bite in the nearby backwater town. A couple of men playing pool set their sites on the women in the group. Of course, John handles business. Once at the camp site the students head out in to the woods to take photos. But we all know that kids running about in the woods in a horror film never goes well for their characters. One- by-one the students are grabbed by a group of mutant humans. When John hears his newly minted fiancee scream he rushes back to the camp, but it’s too late. The mutants have taken her back to their homestead. But nothing will stop John from rescuing her, even if he has fight through the entire group alone. He soon discovers that the men are what’s left of the town after tainted water and generations of inbreeding meet. Now, they steal women to breed. But they’re not the only ones in the woods. The horde of mutants are led by escaped convicts who earn a living in the drug manufacturing business.
Bill Moseley, Mathew Willig, Vernon Wells, Costas Mandylor, Nestor Serranp, Sydney Sweeney, Tiffany Brouwer, Nils Allen Stewart, Elisabeth Ferrara, John Omohundro, Zac Goodspeed, Thomas Ochoa, Amanda Godepski, Frankie Ray and many others co-star in The Horde.
The Horde features a ton of ass-kicking action and things that go boom. Ladies, there’s even a scene just for you with a bit of eye candy. The kill scenes were unique and interesting and filled the film with gory-goodness. I have to say, there was never a dull moment. It won’t be long before you can see it for yourself.
