Gnaw, directed, co-written and co-produced by Hayler Garcia, is the follow up to his award-winning film An American Terror. The film centers on Jennifer Conrad (Mitchell), a small-town girl fleeing from her abusive husband (Johnson) and struggling to make a new life for herself in the big city. But something is eating away at her…bite by bite.

“Penelope Mitchell stars in her first lead role in a feature film. She plays a woman escaping her abusive past. Through out the movie, while fighting this supernatural creature, she discovers the inner-strength she didn’t know she had.” Producer Richard Turner told me.

Principle photography began May 2nd in Denver, Colorado. The film, penned by Jim Brennan, Garcia and Kathryn Gould, is set to make it’s debut at film festivals in early 2017.

Jim Brennan, Michael Haskins, Richard Turner, Betsy Leighton, and Stephen Shelanski produce.

“We are very excited to be involved. It’s going to be even better than his award winning film An American Terror.” Turner said about the the film’s director Haylar Garcia.

When I asked Richard Turner how he became involved with the project he had this to say: “Mike, one of the producers came to us with a treatment and we loved it. It was turned into a script, which was excellent. Because of the strength of the script we were able to secure financing and have now begun filming in Colorado.” Turner is genuinely excited about the film.
