David Lynch Will Not Direct The New ‘Twin Peaks’ Series

Back in January Showtime announced that they would be developing a new ‘Twin Peaks’ series. The original mystery-thriller focused on a town where nothing is what it seemed. ‘Twin Peaks’ starred Kyle MacLachlan, Lara Flynn Boyle, Ray Wise, Michael Ferrer, Heather Graham and many others.

The new series’ cast includes the return of several of the original cast, such as Dana Ashbrook, Sherilyn Fenn, Kyle MacLachlan, Ray Wise and Lara Flynn Boyle and will premier sometime in 2016.

Fans of the 1990 TV series, directed by David Lynch, were very excited about the return of the show and the likely hood that it would be directed Lynch.

Yesterday fans were very disappointed to find out that Showtime’s negotiations with Lynch had fallen through. Many fans said that they would not be interested in ‘Twin Peaks’ if anyone other than Lynch directed the new series. Lynch took to social media with an explanation.

Hopefully Showtime and Lynch can come to an agreement. ‘Twin Peaks’ would not be the same without him. We will keep you posted.
