Both the play and the film follow Professor Goodman, a psychological specialist. The professor is also a firm non-believer in the paranormal, but when he is sent a letter from his former dead mentor he begins to question his stance on ghosts. The letter urges the professor to put his skill to good use and solve three unsolved mysteries.

According to Screen Daily, Andy Nyman (ABCs of Death 2) will reprise his role as the professor as well as co-direct along side Jeremy Dyson (Funland). Freeman (Fargo,The Hobbit) and George MacKay (Defiance) will also reprise their roles in the film version. Filming is set to begin in September.
