We’ve been following the upcoming horror series Dead of Summer closely. Today we get our first glimpse of what’s to come. Freeform (originally ABC Family) has unveiled the first teaser for the slasher series.
Dead of Summer, has an impressive cast that includes Candman actor Tony Todd, Zelda Williams (Teen Wolf), Albert Frezza (Charlie’s Angels), Ronen Rubienstein (Orange is the New Black), Paulina Singer (Gothem), Eli Gore (The 100), Mark Indelicato (Ugly Betty) and Once Upon a Time’s Elizabeth Mitchell and Elizabeth Lail.
Set in the 1980’s, school is out for the summer and a sun-drenched season of firsts beckons the counselors at Camp Clearwater, a seemingly idyllic Midwestern summer camp. including first loves, first kisses – and first kills. Clearwater’s dark, ancient mythology awakens, and what was supposed to be a summer of fun soon turns into one of unforgettable scares and evil at every turn.
Each episode of the show, directed by creators Adam Horowitz and Edward Kitsis, will center on one of the counselors. Penned and executively produced by Horowitz, Kitsis and Ian Goldberg, Dead of Summer premieres on Freeform on Tuesday June 28th, at 9/8c.
