Lucifer will soon return to Fox for it’s second season. The series stars Tom Ellis as Lucifer Morningstar, a charming, charismatic, handsome gentleman who has left Hell to spend time on earth. After his friend is gunned down in front of his nightclub, Lucifer teams up with detective Chloe Decker (Lauren German) to fight crime, all while trying to understand his new self and dealing with his brother Amenadiel (D.B. Woodside), an angel who has been sent to persuade him to return to Hell where he belongs.
In season one’s finale we learn that Lucifer’s mother, Charlotte, has broken out of Hell after being locked away for thousands of years. This season Lucifer will be desperately searching for his dear old mom. But when he does find the mother from Hell, will he be able to trust her? What will it mean for his relationship with Chloe? And what will it mean for the humanity?
Today, we can report that Lucifer’s mother will be played by Battlestar Galactica actress Tricia Helfer. The Canadian actress will co-star alongside returning cast members Lesley-Ann Brandt, Kevin Alejandro, Rachel Harris and Scarlett Estevez who plays Chloe’s daughter.

The series, based DC Comic created by Neil Gaiman, Mike Dringenberg and Sam Keith, averaged 10.5 million viewers per episode in its first season. Lucifer is scripted by Tom Kapinos (Californication) and directed by Len Wiseman (Underworld) . Jerry Bruckheimer and Littman (CSI) along with Len Wiseman (Sleepy Hollow and Underworld) serve as executive producers.
