It’s full blown shark season. Sharks are everywhere, in the news, on Discovery’s Shark Week, in theaters with The Shallows. Soon another shark film will be arriving on Blu-ray and DVD, In the Deep, from Dimension Films.
Directed and co-written by Johannes Roberts (The Other Side of the Door), In the Deep, originally titled 47 Meters Down, is the first film to shoot 95% of its footage under water.
Former Pop-Star Mandy Moore co-stars along side Claire Holt (The Vampire Diaries) and Matthew Modine, who is starring in Netflix upcoming series Stranger Things.
In the film sisters Lisa (Moore) and Kate (Holt) who have set off for a vacation in Mexico. When the sisters are offered the chance to go diving in waters frequently paroled by beautiful great white sharks, Kate is thrilled and manages to convince Lisa to join her. Unfortunately, the sisters soon find themselves in trouble when their shark cage comes loose and sinks to the ocean’s floor leaving them trapped under water and surrounded by sharks. With their air supply running low, the sisters must find away to get back to the boat without becoming a great white’s next meal.
On August 2nd In the Deep will swim into stores on DVD, Digital HD. and arrive on VOD. The film’s trailer should arrive soon. We will keep you posted.
