Genre fan will be excited to learn that one of the most highly-anticipated horror films of 2016, ‘Blair Witch‘, the surprise sequel to 1999’s ground-breaking found footage film ‘The Blair Witch Project’, will be released on Blu-ray and DVD this January. The Blu-ray and DVD has a ton of special features, including a six-part documentary about the making of the film.
‘Blair Witch’, from Director Adam Wingard (You’re Next, The Guest), was filmed in secret under the title ‘The Woods’. Genre fans had no clue the sequel was coming until it was announced at this year’s San Diego Comic Con, when it was revealed that not only what it was, but that the sequel had already wrapped production and had a theatrical premiere date.

A group of college students venture into the Black Hills Forest in Maryland to uncover the mysteries surrounding the disappearance of their friend’s sister, who many believe is connected to the legend of the Blair Witch. At first the group is hopeful, especially when a pair of locals offer to act as guides through the dark and winding woods, but as the endless night wears on, the group is visited by a menacing presence. Slowly, they begin to realize the legend is all too real and more sinister than they could have imagined.
