Universal Pictures has just announced that James DeMonaco is gearing up to bring genre fans another night of brutality, crime and murder in the fourth installment of ‘The Purge’.
Right now details are scarce but we do know that producers Jason Blum, Brad Fuller, Michael Bay, Sébastiaen K. Lemercier and Andrew Form will be returning for the film, which will land in theaters on July 4, 2018. So far there has been no word about the cast or if Frank Grillo will return.
In the last sequel, titled ‘The Purge: Election Year‘, Leo Barnes (Grillo) serves as head of security for presidential candidate Senator Charlie Roan (Elizabeth Mitchell). Her entire family was slaughtered on the night of the annual free-for-all 15 years ago and now she wants to end the Purge once and for all. Leo’s mission is to protect her during her campaign and to keep her safe on the night of the Purge. But a betrayal lands Leo and the Senator on the chaotic, blood-filled streets of D.C. on the one night of the year when there are no rules and there is no help.

‘The Purge: Election Year’ arrived at the perfect time, while the US was preparing to chooses a new president. It was a little scary that this horror film had almost the exact same slogan (Keep America Great) as our now president (Make America Great Again). We would love to see ‘The Purge’ go global.
We will update you when we know more.
