Actor-writer-producer Sean Whalen, who you will recognize from ‘The People Under The Stairs’, ‘Twister’, ‘The Axe Murders of Villisca’ and many other films and series, suffered through a bout of depression, but when he came out the other side he had a great idea. He sat down with a close friend, Jim Wald, and wrote a script. That is how the horror-comedy, ‘Crust’, was born and now the Indiegogo campaign has begun. Whalen has teamed up with Felissa Rose, Scout-Taylor Compton, and others to bring this unique tale to life. And they need your help.

The story centers on a lonely, depressed man, Vegas Winters, whose tears bring to life a sock a monster. The sock monster, named Crust, defends, protects, comforts, and even kills for him.

We want to tell this story.” Whalen states on the campaign’s page. “We want you all to see it.  So we are trying to raise the money for physical production to start.  The independent movie world has changed and most films that remain creatively unique are made outside of the studio system.  So, I have surrounded myself with people who are passionate and uplifting to help me.  We hope you can help, too.  Because I believe, if you have experienced any tough times in your life, the power of movies to escape from that pain is transcendent.  But, it is also nice to feel like you are not alone.  That everybody hurts.  And everything will be okay if you want it to.”

The world needs more independent films with heart, especially when it comes to horror-comedies. Be sure to visit the ‘Crust’ Indiegogo campaign. Follow the film on Facebook for regular updates and special perk bonuses. If you mention Horror Fuel when you contribute, you will receive a bonus autographed photo from Sean Whalen!
