20th Century Fox is sinking its fangs into the vampire genre. They have obtained the rights to the novel ‘A People’s History of the Vampire Uprising’ by Raymond Villareal. The adaption of the novel will be produced by 21 Laps’ Dan Cohen and Shawn Levy , who were not only behind 2016’s ‘Arrival’ but are the producers of Netflix’s hit series ‘Stranger Things’ as well.

Pitched as a kind of ‘World War Z’ with vampires, according to THR, the story is about the assimilation of vampires, called Gloamings, and their violent clash with humans. The story follows a CDC investigator and an FBI agent who forms the first Gloaming Crimes Unit; a civil rights attorney; an obsessive Vatican librarian; a celebrity gossip site and others.
