Here we are again, my Little Monsters, on another Woman Crush Wednesday. However, I have not chosen any specific woman of the horror genre to celebrate today.
Why haven’t I made a selection for today? I promise you all, it’s not because I have been remiss in my duties as a writer. It’s because I wanted to give you, the readers, a chance to let your voices be heard…so to speak.
What could I possibly mean by that? It means that since it’s International Women’s Day,  I want to celebrate by finding out who your favorite woman or women in our beloved horror genre happen to be.  Who’s you favorite final girl, your favorite scream queen, or you favorite female filmmaker? Elsa Lanchester? Simone Simon? Barbara Steele? Adrienne Barbeau? Marilyn Burns? Katharine Isabelle? Jessica Cameron? Amanda Wyss? I know there are so many to choose from besides the ones I have just mentioned, but I sincerely want to know.
Women are, without a doubt, an absolutely integral part of the horror genre. They always have been and they always will be. If one were to look at this particular genre as a living organism, women would be the strong beating heart that gives it life.
So how exactly are we going to do this? On either the HorrorFuel Facebook or Twitter page, find this specific article and leave a comment or tweet on the article with the name of the woman or women you wish to see me highlight in a future article. Now hop to it my Little Monsters, and make me proud.
