Back in January Fox ordered the pilot for the the vampire series The Passage. Now, Deadline is reporting that FOX has ordered a second script which is a good sign for the show and will help the series get off to a great start if FOX greenlights the series.
The Passage, an adaption of Justin Cronin’s book trilogy, will begin production this summer and is one of two pilots FOX has picked up. The other series is The Beast. Marcos Siega will be in the director’s chair for the pilot which is being eyed for a midseason launch.
Executive producer Liz Heldens revealed some of the series plot to Deadline.
“The Passage” begins as a character-driven government conspiracy thriller that morphs into a post-apocalyptic saga with vampires. The series spans more than a century and focuses on a young girl named Amy who must save the human race.” Heldens said.
Heldens executive produces alongside Matt Reeves, and Adam Kassan for 6th & Idaho, Siega, with Ridley Scott and David W. Zucker by the way of Scott Free Productions.
