Horror is hotter than ever and TV networks are taking notice. Over the past couple of years, we’ve gotten a lot of new horror and supernatural series along with series adaptions. We can now add another to that list.
During a recent podcast with Diminishing Returns, Eduardo Sanchez, the co-director of 1999’s found footage icon The Blair Witch Project, revealed that the Blair Witch is coming to the small screen.
For us, it’s a very natural thing to go and say, ‘Hey, let’s do a frickin’ Blair Witch show.” He continued. “You can say it’s from the original creators and we can bring in a whole bunch of interesting directors to direct episodes.”
Sanchez was asked if the new series would be a prequel, a sequel, or an anthology the director said that he could not discuss it. He also revealed that he no longer owns the rights to Blair Witch and that it was up to Lionsgate. Hopefully, we will learn more soon.
