The upcoming fourth installment of the Predator franchise has fans excited with the promise that it will be gory like the first two classics and now with the teaser poster fans are even more excited…yes me included, I mean, look at it!
The poster has been seen in IMAX theaters and gives the same electrifying feeling that reminds fans of the one scene from Predator 2 when the Predator stands on top of a skyscraper in LA during a thunderstorm triumphantly roaring as it’s struck by lightning and not even phased by it.
For added hype for fans, a book said to be the prequel to the movie will be hitting shelves on June 5th. The book, The Predator: Hunters and Hunted will be released by Titan Books and will be written by James A. Moore. The book will be setting up the events leading to the upcoming film.
Jake Busey who was one of the last to be cast in the film, will be playing the role of the son of Special Agent Peter Keys from Predator 2 who was played by Jake’s father Gary Busey. Jake also gave some insight into what the new Predator movie will be about also calming fears some fans may have.
The Predator definitely falls in line with the original franchise in that it does focus on the technology that the Predators have. It focuses on what the goal of the Predators is, and what their modus operandi, and why they come to the planet, and that type of thing. It’s definitely in line with the original franchise.
Full details of the plot is still unknown but from the description of the characters it’s possibly about a Special Ops Marine who accidentally discovers the existence of the Predators which no one believes him as well as having PTSD as being a factor for some of the characters who are said to be veterans of the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq. It has been confirmed that the story takes place between the events of Predator 2 and Predators and no connection to either of the Alien Vs. Predator movies. The film is set to release August 3rd, 2018.
