Some artists say that art takes a lot of you. That’s the case for amazing artist Vincent Castiglia, as well as for his subjects. You see, Castiglia paints exclusively in blood.
In his artwork, always made with blood on paper, he explores life, death, and everything in between. Now, a new documentary, Bloodlines: The Art and Life of Vincent Castiglia, from John Borowski (H.H. Holmes: America’s First Serial Killer) hopes to reveal more about the artist and his work.
This is a deeply personal film for Vincent and I am honored to have worked closely with him on the film. I feel many people will see this film as inspirational, even though it is a dark ride through pain and suffering. Vincent’s life journey, much like his art, reflects both the dark and ultimately the light that shines through the darkness.” Borowski states.
Vincent Castiglia has been commisioned to create paintings for many celebrities. Some who are featured in the documentary include Gregg Allman, Randy Blythe of Lamb of God, Damien Echols, Kerry King & Gary Holt of Slayer, record executive Michael Alago, and comedian Margaret Cho.
Following a successful Kickstarter campaign for the documentary, the documentary has filmed all over the world, including in the studio of H.R. Ginger, the designer behind the Xenomorphs for Alien, Bloody-Disgusting reports.
Bloodlines: The Art and Life of Vincent Castiglia is currently seeking distribution. In the meantime check out some of Castiglia’s amazing blood art.
