CBS Films’ Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark adaptation is only days away from filming, producer Guillermo del Toro announced today on Twitter. While Del Toro was at one time set to direct, André Øvreda, who was behind The Autopsy of Jane Doe, is now in the director’s chair. The two will both be producing the project.
The film is based on the Alvin Schwartz book series that was released from 1981 to 1991 and scared the crap out of us as kids. The script was penned by Kevin and Dan Hageman, and Del Toro.
“The thriller follows a group of young teens who must solve the mystery surrounding sudden and macabre deaths in their small town.”
No cast have been announced at this time.
We start shooting in a few days- in Toronto! https://t.co/u8pCMfjAD1
