Luke Cage” actor Mike Colter has signed on to star as the lead in CBS’ new series “Evil” from Robert and Michelle King, Variety reports.

Colter, who joins previously announced cast member Katja Herbers, will play the role of David DaCosta, a Catholic priest in training who is tasked by the church to look into unexplained phenomena to find if the events have a supernatural or scientific explanation.

Colter is well known for his portrayal of the nearly indestructible comic book character Luke Cage in the series of the same name from Netflix. “Luke Cage” was canceled by Netflix recently along with other series including “Jessica Jones”, “Golden Fist”, and most recently, “The Punisher”. Disney, who owns Marvel Studios, has begun to pull all Marvel series with many believing they will be returning as part of Disney’s future exclusive streaming service.
