While it’s still early in the development phase, production Weekly is reporting that a new sequel for the Deep Blue Sea franchise is swimming our way, this time from Netflix. Unfortunately, no other details have been revealed.
The franchise made a splash back in 1999 with the Renny Harlin-directed feature starring Thomas Jane, Saffron Burrows, L.L. Cool J, and Samuel L. Jackson. The movie centered on a group of scientists at an isolated research facility where they have been creating intelligent sharks.
Last year Warner Bros. unleashed a sequel about scientists experimenting on bull sharks, of course, the sharks get out causing death and destruction. Danielle Savre, Rob Mayes, and Michael Beach starred.
