Looking for a devilish twist on dinner? We’ve got a cookbook that will be right up our alley, The Necronomnomnom: Recipes and Rites from the Lore of H. P. Lovecraft cookbook!

The book provides recipes for dishes inspired by the stories and characters of the Lovecraftian universe and is filled with puns and references to Lovecraft characters, The Necronomnomnom is as fun as it is eerie. The recipes are written in the style of the Necronomicon, Lovecraft’s fictional grimoire which contained incantations to summon the Old Ones. Rather than being told to slice a roll to prepare a sandwich, you’ll instead be told, “Using a ceremonial blade prepared with the proper incantations, remove the center of star from the top of the bun; ignore any protest from the bun.”

Within this book you’ll find recipes for Byakhee Gyro, based off the fictional race of interstellar beings; Nog-Sothoth: The Liquor at the Punch Bowl is inspired by the Yog-Sothoth, a cosmic entity featured in Lovecraft’s stories; and, of course, the famous Cthulhu gets his due deference in Cthus-Koos, a recipe for tuna couscous.

While all the recipes are written as if they’re from the pages of the Necronomicon, The Necronomnomnom provides an appendix that translates all the incantations into easy-to-follow recipes, written in plain English. The Necronomnomnom is perfect for planning a spread for a Halloween party or Lovecraftian dinner party—thanks to these incantations your table will be infested with infernally addictive food. In addition to the recipes and dark lore, The Necronomnomnom is filled with lavish illustrations that fill the book with a spooky atmosphere.

Written by Mike Slater and Thomas Roache, The Necronomnomnom is an essential addition to any Lovecraft collection, making it the perfect gift for any Lovecraft enthusiast. Give in to your morbid and dark hunger and call forth these delicious and unnerving dishes.

Mike Slater has been a fan of dark fiction since boyhood, reading H. P. Lovecraft and his contemporaries at what his parents considered too young an age. He has a passion for creating odd and compelling stories, games, and cookbooks from his home in Wrightsville, Pennsylvania. He draws inspiration from nights under the stars by the fires of Burnhenge, his hand-built stone sanctuary, and psyche recharging station.

Thomas Roache is a civil engineer, President of Red Duke Games, a gymnastics coach, an avid gamer (as evinced by the shelves of his man cake in Limerick, Pennsylvania), and a talented amateur chef. Through some unknown alchemy, he was able to combine these personal puzzle pieces and become a driving force behind this book.
