The latest DLC for Frontier Development’s business/theme park simulation Jurassic World Evolution is possibly its biggest yet! The “Return to Jurassic Park” DLC brings back Sam Neill, Laura Dern, and Jeff Goldblum in their iconic roles from the film series and picks up where their first adventure left off.

What do they got in there, king kong?

In the game, players return to Isla Nublar to help Drs Grant and Sattler, and Ian Malcolm as they’re helping John Hammond to get control back of the island, repair damaged facilities, and get dinosaurs under control so the park can finally open to the public. The story also includes a young Cabot Finch who is in charge of finances in the main game but in the DLC is Hammond’s intern.

They’re so tiny it’s adorable… I’ll release a hundred of them on the guests later…

The DLC not only has the buildings from 1993 (that can be carried over into the main game) but two new dinosaurs, the Compys and Pterandons, and two new attractions, the self-driving tour jeeps from the first film, and the aviary where the Pterandons are housed. Some of the dinosaurs in the game have new cosmetic skins based on how they looked in the first three films.

She’s thinking about it…

The cast beings back the nostalgic feel from the films, especially Goldblum’s performance, but credit has to be given to actor Mackenzie Gray who did well with impersonating the late Richard Attenborough’s voice as John Hammond.

Overall the DLC adds more fun to the sandbox modes while the story alone is quite fun with its moments of tension as sabotages from rival companies interfere with operations as you try to run the park smoothly as possible. Along with the DLC are free updates including restrooms that you have to place for your guests as well as park ranger vulnerability. The rangers can be attacked by the dinosaurs now and can risk having their jeeps destroyed making it one more thing you’ll have to worry about as park manager!

With the addition to more hours of fun gameplay, the cast, and the nostalgic feeling of the 1993 film, I give the “Return to Jurassic Park” DLC 5 stars! The DLC is available now for the PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
