Mexican actor Vadhir Derbez (Sense8, How to Be a Latin Lover) is set to star opposite Guy Pearce in Justin P. Lange‘s upcoming exorcism horror The Seventh Day, Deadline reports.

Being described as “Training Day meets The Exorcist,” the film follows a renowned exorcist who teams up with a rookie priest for his first day of training. As they plunge deeper into hell on earth, the lines between good and evil blur, and their own demons emerge.

Cinestate’s Fangoria is producing the film written and directed by Lange. Dallas Sonnier and Amanda Presmyk are producing for Cinestate. Chelsea Davenport and Kimberly Hwang are also producing. Voltage Pictures’ CEO Nicolas Chartier and President Jonathan Deckter are executive producing along with Adam Donaghey, Phil Nobile Jr., and Danielle Cox.

The Seventh Day is set to begin this February in Dallas and New Orleans.
