Avengers star Chris Evans is set to star as the sadistic dentist Orin Scrivello in Greg Berlantieg’s upcoming remake of 1986’s Little Shop of Horrors, Geek Tyrant reports.
Originally played by Steve Martin, the character is the abusive boyfriend of Audrey who enjoys inflicting pain on his patients.
Scarlett Johansson is in negotiations to star as Aubrey. Taron Egerton is in talks to play Seymour. Billy Porter has already signed up to voice the killer alien plant that needs blood to survive.
Little Shop of Horrors tells the story of Seymour, a meek florist who works at Skid Row Florists, where he is bossed around by the shop’s owner. Secretly in love with Audrey, Seymour becomes an overnight sensation when he discovers the talking alien plant. His life becomes complicated when the plant begins to demand people to eat.
Marc Platt and Sarah Schechter and Berlanti are producing the film which will begin filming this summer. Check out the original film’s trailer below.
