Marvel is synonymous with helpful superheroes out to save the world, but there’s a lot more to the Marvel Universe. The new series “Helstrom“ will explore Marvel’s dark side, filled with supernatural horrors. The new trailer gives us a taste of what’s to come.
The series centers on Daimon and Ana Helstrom, the complicated adult children of a mysterious killer, who have inherited special gifts. We watch as they hunt down the worst of humanity, as well as the not so human.
Creator Paul Zbyszewski states:
It’s about the family that we’re born with and the family that we create,” he said. “It’s a nature-versus-nurture story. It’s about the stuff that we’re born with genetically that we inherit and we carry with us because we have to. It’s about our environment that we’re raised with and the values that we’re imprinted with as we grow older, and that affects our ability to judge right from wrong, and our morality.”
Tom Austen and Sydney Lemmon star as siblings Daimon and Victoria Helstrom, with Elisabeth Marvel playing the role of Victoria Marvel. The cast also includes Cult of Chucky actress Fiona Dourif, Tarun Keram, Kyle Warren, Xavier De Salaberry, Arina Guerra, and June Carryl.
“Helstrom“ was created by and is executive produced by Paul Zbyszewski along with Karim Zreik and Jeph Loeb. Marvel Television and ABC Signature Studios produce.
