Daniel XIII; the result of an arcane ritual involving a King Diamond album, a box of Count Chocula, and a copy of Swank magazine, is a screenwriter, director, producer, actor, artist, and reviewer of fright flicks…Who hates ya baby?

You know those ol’ U.F.O. docs from the sinister ’70s that would present fanciful tales of encounters with arcane aliens and the far-out craft they piloted all served up with info from questionable “experts”. Well let me tell ya, The Phenomenon sure as shit isn’t that!

So, what is it? Pound for pound one of the most credible flying saucer documentaries I’ve ever laid my eerie eyeballs on, that’s what it is (and believe you me cats n’ creeps, I’ve laid my putrid peepers on more than my fair share of these)!

Director James Fox shoves the mystery of just what has been in our skies for countless years, and the world spanning attempt to keep a lid on that shit with the quickness. Now that would be fine and dandy in and of itself, but over the course of this flick’s runtime we hear some pretty damn solid testimony from astronauts, military brass, and government officials, along with some crazy footage that I had never seen before this vicious viewing!

The whole affair certainly isn’t hurt by the fact that the NY Times recently disclosed the Pentagon’s secret UFO Program, the Unidentified Aerial Phenomena Task Force (UAPTF), which will fall under the Navy, and hopes to get this flyin’ saucer biz sorted once and for all. This adds a nice under-current (and even more credibility) to the material present for sure.

As special note must be added to praise our host,  Peter Coyote, who gives the material the proper gravitas… plus he was in E.T., so… okay that’s a stretch… whatever…

Bottom line; you know I wouldn’t bullshit you lot and these folks don’t seem to be the type to either… but you just have to give this one a wicked watch and decide for your own damn self!
