The oh so brilliant filmmaker Guillermo del Toro is hard at work on his latest film, Nightmare Alley which has just been given a release date by Searchlight Pictures.

The all-star cast includes Bradley Cooper, Toni Collette, Cate Blanchett, Willem Dafoe, Richard Jenkins, Ron Perlman, Rooney Mara, Mary Steenburgen, and David Strathairn.

The film, already being eyed for the 2021 Oscars, centers on “An ambitious young carny (Cooper) with a talent for manipulating people with a few well-chosen words hooks up with a female psychiatrist (Blanchett) who is even more dangerous than he is.”

Nightmare Alley is an adaptation of  William Lindsay Gresham’s 1946 novel, which spawned a feature film the following year. Del Toro penned the new script along with Kim Morgan which is being described as a new twist on the story.

Take a trip down Nightmare Alley on December 3, 2021. But first, take a look at the first images from the set featuring Rooney Mara and Cate Blanchett, among others.
