The New ‘Paranormal Activity’ Movie Will Skip Theaters

The upcoming new installment of the Paranormal Activity franchise will be skipping theaters and heading straight to Paramount+.
 
Directed by William Eubank (Underwater) is in the director’s chair for the sequel written by Christopher Landon, the man behind Paranormal Activity II, III, and IV, Happy Death Day and Freaky, which was released earlier this year. Paranormal Activity‘s Oren Peli and Jason Blum are producing.
 
Details are being kept quiet, but the movie has been described as “an unexpected retooling” of the franchise and will continue the tradition of the franchise’s found-footage style the began with the first film, released in 2007.
 
Set to be released later this year, the film stars Emily Bader, Dan Lippert, Roland Buck III, and Henry Ayres-Brown.
