Netflix has now announced the release date for Mike Flanagan’s adaption of Stephen King’s 1992 novel ‘Gerald’s Game’.
The film, co-written by Flanagan and Jeff Howard, follows a woman who “accidentally kills her husband after being handcuffed to a bed, leaving her unable to free herself. As time passes and she realizes that rescue is an all but hopeless thought, she begins to slip into insanity, the voices in her head manifesting into visions.”
King himself saw a cut of the adaptation and tweeted the following:

Horrifying, hypnotic, terrific. It’s gonna freak you out.”

Carla Gugino, Henry Thomas, Bruce Greenwood, and Kate Siegel co-star. Gerald’s Game will premiere on Netflix on Friday, September 29, 2017.
