The 1990 mini series adaption of Stephen King’s ‘IT’ is a true genre classic. Now, after years of rumors about the desire to make a reboot, ‘IT’ is finally approaching its release. The new version, under the direction of Andrès Muschietti (Mama), has officially entered post-production and is gearing up to begin advanced screenings, 9 months before its theatrical release date of September 8, 2017.

The company 1 iota is advertising free tickets to the advance screening of ‘IT’ in Burbank, California on December 15th, Movie Web has reported. 1 iota is looking for audience members between the ages of 18 and 49 to give feedback on the film which is said to be scarier than the original.

“Based on Stephen King’s best-selling novel. A group of young kids face their biggest fears when they seek answers to the disappearance of children in their hometown of Derry, Maine. They square off against an evil clown named Pennywise, whose history of murder and violence dates back for centuries.”

Bill Skarsgard will play the entity known as Pennywise, the role originally played by Tim Curry. Skarsgard is most well known for his role as Roman Godfrey in Eli Roth’s ‘Hemlock Grove‘. Fans were very concerned about how Pennywise would be portrayed, but when the a teaser image was released of Skarsgard in full costume, fans seemed to go from dreading the reboot to being truly excited, at least that was the case with me.  Honestly, I have to say the new version of Pennywise is a bit terrifying.
