‘Green Room‘ director Jeremy Saulnier’s next project, titled ‘Hold the Dark’, will be a Netflix exclusive. The film has an impressive cast including ‘True Blood’ actor Alexander Skarsgard, Jeffrey Wright, Riley Keough, James Badge Dale, and James Bloor.
Skarsgard in True Blood
Based on the novel by the same name written by William Giraldi, the film is set in the Alaskan wilderness where children are being killed by a pack of wolves. Macon Blair who worked with Saulnier on the film ‘Blue Ruin’ will adapt the script.
Skarsgard will play the role of Vernon Slone, a father who returns home to find his son dead and his wife, played by Keogh, missing. Wright will co-star as a biologist trying to uncover why a pack of wolves has suddenly turned blood-thirsty, while Dale will play a detective trying to hunt down Vernon’s wife. Boor has been cast as a creepy, mysterious drifter in the town.
At the moment that is all the information we have on ‘Hold the Dark’. Hopefully more on the film, including the premiere date, will be released soon.
You can catch Alexander Skarsgard in action in his most recent film, ‘The Legend of Tarzan’, now out on Blur-ray and DVD.
