Last Night, genre literary icon Anne Rice made a stop at the San Diego Library where she chatted with KUSI before heading to the last stop on her ‘Prince Lestat and the Realms of Atlantis’ tour in La Jolla , California.  Both Anne Rice and her son, Christopher, talked with KUSI about her past, present, and future projects. There is one in particular that we are looking forward to, the upcoming series based on her novel ‘The Vampire Chronicles’.

Rice confirmed that the ‘Vampire Chronicles’ series, which reveals the origin story of Brat Pince, is indeed in the works.

We want to write the pilot and several of the scripts for the first season and also a detailed outline for about five seasons, five years… We’ve been very, very surprised – and we’re grateful for – the response we’ve gotten. Our agents have heard from a lot of people. It’s been very exciting.”

Rice almost let the details of another project slip, one that Christopher called “a #topsecretproject we’re working on but can’t talk about yet.”

There might be another project out there, but we’re not at liberty to talk about it.”  Christopher adds, “We’re not at liberty to discuss it yet.  We will get back to you when it’s time to give you the scoop, I promise.”

Recently Rice was asked who she would like to see cast as Louis in the series. Her choice, Matt Bomer, ‘White Collar’ actor and an ‘American Horror Story’ alum. He would star in the role originally played by Brad Pitt in 1994’s ‘Interview with the Vampire’.
