2016 was an interesting year as far as horror went; if you wanted to be scared shitless all you had to do was watch the American election cycle. And filmmakers Scott Dunn and Gina Gomez might have just struck gold (or whatever color that rat wig worn by The Donald is) with Weird Folk, a film set on the eve of the 2016 election.
Taking place in one neighborhood on one night, Weird Folk follows a couple different story threads;
- A teen makes a terrible discovery on the dark web
- A Clown stalks the neighborhood
- A Chiropractor experiences his worst nightmare
- And A couple finds themselves in the crosshairs of a killer
It’s an interesting twist on your standard anthology, and god knows there’s plenty to poke fun at in the current american political system. Weird Folk is currently fundraising on Kickstarter, with several weeks left to make their goal. Whether your a liberal cuck or a conservative nut job, its looking to be a stellar movie.
