When Leatherface, a Texas Chainsaw Massacre prequel, was first announced I was a little wary; unlike Micheal Myers, Freddy Krueger, or even Jason, Leatherface didn’t have much of an origin story in his debut film. And frankly, he didn’t need one. The skin mask and hum of a chainsaw were all the big crossdressing brute needed to become one of the most terrifying villains in horror history. The newest trailer however, has got me a little more excited.
Containing an asylum escape, what looks like a small army of cops (who will inevitable become power tool fodder) and Little Leatherface receiving his first chainsaw, the film’s actually starting to look like it might become the first good Texas Chainsaw film in years. The first good one in 43 years if your asking me, but that’s neither here nor there……
