Legendary director Tom Holland teamed up with Kerry Fleming and Friday the 13th creator Victor Miller for Rock Paper Dead which is gearing up to make its world premiere at the Nightmares Film Festival in Columbus, Ohio this October.

The impressive cast includes: Luke Macfarlane (Killjoys), The Hateful Eight actor Michael Madsen,  Tatum O’Neal (Rescue Me), Anna Margaret (Scream Queens), Jennifer Titus (Zoombies), Maureen McCormick (The Brady Bunch, Passions), and Gabriel Stone (Death House), Ari Lehman (Friday the 13th), Kimberly Russell (Precious), Stephanie Shamie (The Redeemer), and Vic Stagliano (Burn Notice).

The film centers on serial killer Peter “The Doll Maker” Harris (Macfarlane), who returns to his ancestral family estate after being released from the state’s hospital for the criminally insane after twenty years as a cured man. Once inside the old house, anguished memories from a tortured childhood and visitations from past victims shake Peter’s resolve, but it isn’t until the lovely young Ashley enters his life that Peter makes a fateful decision that rekindles old desires that have always ended in murder.

From the Press Release:
Columbus, OH – It’s a horror dream-team terrifying enough to make the toughest genre lovers sleep with the lights on: legendary director Tom Holland (Fright Night, Child’s Play, Stephen King’s Thinner) and beloved Friday the 13th screenwriter Victor Miller have teamed up to create Rock Paper Dead, a twisted serial-killer thriller dripping with ‘80s throwback atmosphere.
And now, producers have set a world premiere: Saturday, Oct. 21, 2017 at Nightmares Film Festival in Columbus, Ohio, ranked “among the premier horror festivals in the country, if not the world” (HorrorHound).

The chilling story of Rock Paper Dead follows a woman-killer known as the “The Doll Maker” (Luke McFarlane) and the detective (Michael Madsen) sworn to make him pay. When The Doll Maker escapes justice, Madsen’s Det. Dechert tracks him down to his ancestral home, where the madness is beginning again, this time centered on a new target, young Ashley (Jennifer Titus). The cast also includes icons Tatum O’Neal, Maureen McCormick and Ari Lehman, the first actor to portray Friday the 13th slasher, Jason Vorhees.
Several members of the cast and creative team will be in attendance at the premiere.
“Nightmares Film Festival, with its world-recognized programming, deep respect for horror tradition and lineup of truly extraordinary filmmakers is the perfect home for our world premiere,” said producer Amy Williams. “We are thrilled to debut our film where we know the audience will appreciate both the work and the legacy behind it.”
The premiere will take place on Saturday night of Nightmares Film Festival at the renowned Gateway Film Center, named a top-20 North American art house by Sundance and Ohio’s best theater by Cosmopolitan magazine.
“We are so honored to bring Tom’s newest film to Nightmares,” said festival programmer and co-founder Jason Tostevin. “He is a living legend, and every one of the films we’ll be screening from around the world owes Tom’s work a debt.”
Nightmares will open Oct. 19 with director Adam Green introducing his new Hatchet sequel, Victor Crowley, and with one of 10 screenings in the world of the new Texas Chainsaw Massacre installment, Leatherface.
Final feature and short selections are still being determined and will be announced the week of Sept. 27. Festival passes are available at GatewayFilmCenter.Org.
