Frank Khalfoun’s ‘Amityville: The Awakening’ has been delayed several times. We reported back in March that a new release date had been set for January 6th, 2017. But news comes today, via Bloody-Disgusting, that the release for the film has once again been delayed. According to the site, we are in for a long wait, it could be up to 3 years before we actually see it.
The film follows Joan (Jennifer Jason Leigh), a single Mother, and her three children, one who is very ill. They have relocated to a new town and a new home. Unaware of its history and reputation, the family moves into the Amityville house, where Butch DeFeo butchered his family all those years ago. Things quickly go from bad to worse when the family begins to experience intense paranormal phenomena.
Jennifer Jason Leigh (The Hateful Eight), Bella Thorne (Blended), Jennifer Morrison (Once Upon a Time), Cameron Monaghan (Shameless), Thomas Mann (Project X) and Robo Cop’s Kurtwood Smith star in ‘Amityville: The Awakening’, written and directed by Franck Khalfoun (Maniac) with Jason Blum of Blumhouse Productions serving as producer for the film.
Will update you when we know more.
