One of the most famous paranormal locations in the U.S., The Winchester Mystery House, is getting its own feature film. The house, once occupied the famous Winchester family, has been investigated by paranormal series such as Ghost Adventures (full episode below) and Ghost Hunters. The sprawling mansion is also famous for its strange architecture, with stairs that lead nowhere, doors that don’t open, and hidden passages, all ordered by the Sarah Winchester, who believed that the house was haunted by those killed by the Winchester rifle. The construction did not stop until her death.

A medium told the widow that the spirits were responsible for both her husband and daughter’s death. She believed she was next, but the Medium told Mrs. Winchester that if she built a grand home and as long as construction on the mansion, that now sits at 525 South Winchester Blvd. in San Jose, California, continued she would be safe. After 38 years of construction, the 7-story,  24,000-square-foot home had a staggering 160-rooms, which will actually be seen in the film. The mansion is currently owned by Winchester Investments LLC. The privately owned company represents the descendants of  John and Mayme Brown.
