Stephen King had a busy week, as he was filing to get the rights back to several 80s films based on his work.  As it turns out, the films in question are The Dead Zone, Cujo, Creepshow, Cat’s Eye, Firestarter and Children of the Corn.

The question on many horror fans’ minds is “why”?  One rumor is that King wants control of the rights free and clear so that he can use the characters in the upcoming Hulu series Castle Rock, helmed by J.J. Abrams.  That would imply that the new show will include elements from the period of what some argue is King’s best work.  Either way, Castle Rock is certainly something for horror fans to look forward to.
