Last week I reported that the long awaited movie adaption of ‘Meg’ had finally gone into preproduction. Today we are able to inform you that a director has been announced, and it’s none other than the brilliant Eli Roth. Roth is the force behind movies such as ‘The Green Inferno’, ‘The Stranger’, ‘Hostel’ and ‘Cabin Fever’.

‘Meg’ is the movie adaption by Dean Georgaris of the novel series by the same name, written by Steve Alten. The novel series follows a deep sea diver named Jonas Taylor. Taylor believes that a prehistoric Megalodon is alive and lurking in the Mariana Trench. The giant shark has escaped the temperature barrier that has kept it prisoner for so long. Now ‘Meg’ is loose in the waters of the California coast. The ‘Meg’ movies has been slated by Warner Bros. to begin filming in 2016.

I love anything that involves sharks and I am a huge fan of Eli Roth, so when I found out that two would combine into one film, I was beyond excited. ‘Meg’ just officially moved to the the top of my “must see in 2016” list! Be sure to read the previous article on ‘Meg’ for more details on the film.
