The Location
‘Fear the Walking Dead’ is set in L.A., at least for the first season. Robert Kirkman has made the comment that there will be no forests and no farms, any time soon, in ‘FTWD’.
The Time Line
‘Fear the Walking Dead’ is set just before the beginning of the zombie apocalypse. Hopefully we will learn how it all began. The show will at some point later meet the time line of ‘The Walking Dead’, according to Kirkman.

Season one of ‘Fear the Walking Dead’ is set to premier this August and will consist of six episodes. The Show has already been renewed for season two.
