WARNING SPOILERS !
With the season 7 premiere two months away, the cast of The Walking Dead have returned to Georgia to begin filming the second half of the season. But they may not be staying in Alexandria for long. It looks they’re going to the beach.
Local new stations (in Georgia) have been reporting that several episodes in the second half of the season will be filmed on Driftwood beach and the marsh area of Jekyll Island, Georgia. Back in July, Stalwart Films, the production company behind The Walking Dead, applied to the Georgia Department of Natural Resources to film on Jekyll Island and have been granted permission.
Driftwood Beach
We do know that the scenes will involve four cast members. The characters discover two bodies on the beach, one who is still alive. And the marsh scene will feature one character. We do not know at this time which characters will be featured.
The Marsh
While all of the filming for The Walking Dead takes place in Georgia, Alexandria is actually set in Virginia. The beach may actually represent the Potomac River, unless the characters are going to venture far from home this season. It does make you wonder why there are only four characters together. Will the group be splitting up? I guess we’ll just have to wait and see. The Walking Dead returns this October.
