Today, Pet Sematary: Bloodlines will make its premiere on Paramount+. The prequel to the 1989 classic that we all know and love, Pet Sematary: Bloodlines centers on young Jud, the character made iconic in the original by Fred Gwynne. Now portrayed by Jackson White, Jud’s first encounter with those buried in the stony earth of the burial ground, reinforcing that “sometimes dead is better.”

Set in 1969, a young Jud Crandall has dreams of leaving his hometown of Ludlow, Maine, behind but soon discovers sinister secrets buried within and is forced to confront a dark family history that will forever keep him connected to Ludlow. Banding together, Jud and his childhood friends must fight an ancient evil that has gripped Ludlow since its founding and, once unearthed, has the power to destroy everything in its path. An original story that was mentioned in the original film.

Directed by Lindsey Anderson Beer, who discussed the film with us in an interview, Pet Sematary: Bloodlines‘ star-studded cast includes David Duchovny, Samantha Mathis, Henrey Thomas, Pam Grier, Glen Gould, Vincent Leclerc, and Isabella LaBlanc.
