A film about the horrors of addiction, Bleeding, is set to make its US film festival premiere at the upcoming Dances With Films festival in New York City this December.
The film centers on Eric, a 17-year-old grieving the overdose death of his brother. When his cousin is pulled into the deadly world of using and selling a drug made from vampire blood, Eric will do whatever it takes to save him from the same fate that claimed his brother.
The two go on the run, in debt to a vicious dealer, with no way to pay it back. When they break into what is supposed to be an empty house, they find a sleeping girl locked inside. This brings new danger, a link to their past, and revelations that will test the bonds of blood and friendship.
John Robert Howley, Jasper Jones, and Tory Wong star in Bleeding, which Andrew Bell wrote, directed, and produced. Nicholas Payne Santos, Bofan Zhang, and Kenneth Green also produce.
“Bleeding delves into the raw and unfiltered realities of addiction, heartbreak, and hope. To me, it’s a personal reminder of the fragility and resilience of the human spirit, finding light in those moments of darkness, and I think it’s a message that’s needed now more than ever.” Said producer Bofan Zhang.
Bleeding promises to be an intense film that explores themes of addiction, family, and the cost of desperation. When it screens at Dances with Films on December 6, it will leave a lasting impression on audiences.
