Sarah Michelle Gellar, who starred in the original film, has teased the sequel on social media. It is fuels fan excitement as she jokes about a Scooby-Doo sequel. It remains unclear if she will reprise her role or make a cameo appearance in I Know What You Did Last Summer.
The sequel, which will be released on July 28, 2025, will bring back familiar faces like Freddy Prinze Jr. and Jennifer Love Hewitt. Madelyn Cline, Nicholas Alexander Chavez, Billy Campbell, Jonah Hauer-King, Austin Nicholas, and Lola Tung join the original cast members. Jennifer Kaytin Robinson and Elisha Christian are directing.
