For years, horror fans have been begging for another installment of the 28 Days Later franchise, and it’s finally coming. A few days ago, we shared the teaser trailer for 28 Years Later, which revealed the trailer would arrive today, and it has.
The trailer gives us a look at the new world nearly three decades,10,228 days to be exact, after a zombie outbreak ravaged society. Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Jodie Comer, and Ralph Fiennes star in the film, which will also see the return of Cillian Murphy, although the details surrounding his return to his role are currently being kept quiet. Danny Boyle, the original film’s director, returns for 28 Years Later.
The sequel sees a group of survivors who live on a small island connected to the mainland by a single, heavily defended causeway. When one of the group leaves the island on a mission into the dark heart of the mainland, they discover that the virus has mutated not only the infected but also other survivors.
28 Years Later is not the end of the franchise. In fact, it is the first film in a new trilogy, with director Nia DaCosta already shooting the next film.
