2025 will be filled with killer films; there will be something for everyone, from multiple Stephen King adaptations like The Monkey to reimaginings of classics like Frankenstein. It’s going to be an excellent year for horror, but there are five films that we absolutely can’t wait to see. Here are the films at the top of our “must-see” list.

Presence (January 17)
The trailer for Steven Soderbergh’s (Sex, Lies, and Videotape) chilling new horror movie, Presence, gives us a glimpse into the terrors plaguing a family as something turns their lives upside down.
Presence follows a family who moves into a new, beautiful suburban home. Soon, they become convinced they are not alone. A mysterious entity begins to stalk them, toy with them, and turn their new house into a terrifying nightmare.
David Koepp, the man behind Jurassic Park, wrote and executive produced Presence. The cast includes talented stars Lucy Liu (Kill Bill), Julia Fox (Uncut Gems), Chris Sullivan (“This is Us”), Callina Liang (“Foundation”), and Lucus Papaelias.

Sinners (April 18)
Set in the Jim Crow era film, Sinners follows Michael B. Jordan’s character as he returns to his hometown to leave his troubled life behind, get a fresh start, and reunite with his twin brother. Unfortunately, a sinister evil has taken over the town. Soon, he finds himself locked in a fight for survival and to protect those he loves.
Ryan Coogler, who previously directed Jordan in Creed, Fruitvale Station, and Black Panther, produces the film under his Proximity Media banner. Hailee Steinfeld, Wunmi Mosaku, Jack O’Connell, and Delroy Lindo are among the cast of what promises to be a movie filled with chills, thrills, action, and more.

28 Years Later (June 20)
The sequel sees a group of survivors who live on a small island connected to the mainland by a single, heavily defended causeway. When one of the group leaves the island on a mission into the dark heart of the mainland, they discover that the virus has mutated not only the infected but also other survivors.
28 Years Later is not the end of the franchise. It is the first film in a new trilogy, with director Nia DaCosta already shooting the next movie.

The Bride! (September 26)
Get ready for a shocking twist on the classic tale of The Bride of Frankenstein! Maggie Gyllenhaal is set to deliver The Bride!, starring Jake Gyllenhaal, fresh off his role in Road House.
The Bride! Breathes new life into the classic horror tale. Scheduled for release in 2025, the film centers on Frankenstein’s Monster (Christian Bale) seeking a companion in 1930s Chicago. He enlists the help of Dr. Euphronius, and together they revive a murdered woman, creating the Bride (Jessie Buckley). However, things take an unexpected turn, sparking a romance, unwanted attention from the authorities, and a social movement unlike any other.

Frankenstein (TBA)
While many films are coming in 2025 that we can’t wait to see, one stands out above all others. Guillermo del Toro, the visionary director behind The Shape of Water, will bring Mary Shelley’s classic tale of Frankenstein to life in his reimagining.
Netflix has assembled an all-star cast for this highly anticipated adaptation. The cast includes Oscar Isaac (Ex Machina), Andrew Garfield (Hacksaw Ridge), and Mia Goth (the X franchise). Christoph Waltz is the latest star to join the cast.
