Blumhouse, the leading name in modern horror, is set to release The Woman in the Yard, a chilling new thriller starring Danielle Deadwyler (Till, The Harder They Fall).
The film follows Ramona, a woman struggling to cope with the tragic loss of her husband in a car accident. Now, she is left to raise her 14-year-old son and 6-year-old daughter alone on their farm. Their peace is shattered by the arrival of a mysterious figure: a woman in black who appears on their lawn. The figure delivers a chilling warning: “Today’s the day.” Ramona must confront her grief and her fears to protect her children from the unknown danger that threatens to consume them.
The Woman in the Yard boasts a talented cast, including Russell Hornsby (BMF, Fences) and Peyton Jackson (Respect, American Refugee). Estella Kahiha (“Will Trent,” BMF) and Okwui Okpokwasili (The Exorcist: Believer) round out the cast.
Jaume Collet-Serra, behind films like Black Adam and the new action thriller Carry On, directs. Writer Sam Stefanak makes his feature debut.
The Woman in the Yard is produced by Jason Blum, along with acclaimed Emmy-nominated producer Stephanie Allain p.g.a. (“The Exorcist: Believer,” “Hustle & Flow”). Danielle Deadwyler, Jaume Collet-Serra, James Moran, and Gabrielle Ebron serve as executive producers.
