In 1928, Mickey Mouse was introduced to the world under the name Steamboat Willie. Steamboat Willie entered the public domain earlier this year. Of course, it was just a matter of time before someone turned it into a horror movie.
From the team behind Terrifier and director Steven LaMorte comes Screamboat, which turns the once-friendly creature into a murder-hungry nightmare. Initially set to release in theaters this January, Screamboat has just been delayed. It will now be released in April instead. It’s not all bad news, though. Today, the first look at David Howard Thorton, known for his role as “Art the Clown” from the Terrifier franchise, has surfaced. And he looks creepy AF.
In the movie, “A mischievous mouse stalks a group of New Yorkers on a late-night ferry ride. It unleashes murderous mayhem on a relaxing commute. Can the ship’s motley crew of travelers find a way to stop a killer creature who has developed a taste for tourists?”
Stay tuned. The April release date for Screamboat should be announced soon.
