The second trailer for Sinners, the highly anticipated new horror movie from writer-director Ryan Coogler, is here. In the latest trailer, Michael B. Jordan is a bad MF, and the vampires are about to learn that the hard way! The Sinners trailer also gives us a glimpse into its dark and dangerous world, where music gives way to sin, sex, and serious fangs.
Set in the Jim Crow era film, Sinners follows twin brothers (both played by Jordan). “Trying to leave their troubled lives behind, twin brothers return to their hometown to start again, only to discover that an even greater evil is waiting to welcome them back.”
Ryan Coogler, who previously directed Jordan in Creed, Fruitvale Station, and Black Panther, produces the film under his Proximity Media banner.
Oscar nominee Hailee Steinfeld stars alongside Jordan, Wunmi Mosaku, Jack O’Connell, and Delroy Lindo, who complete the cast of this must-see movie.
Coogler said this about the film’s influences: “The film deals with American music, Blues music, which is if you know the story of Tommy Johnson, Robert Johnson, all of that is there. Hoodoo culture, all of these concepts and ideas. And when you think about the vampire as it exists, it’s got an association and the counterpart in almost every culture. But it is the supernatural creature that’s most associated with seduction, that’s most associated with choice. That aspect is something that’s very present with Blues music, also called the Devil’s music. There was just contrast between the secular lifestyle and that. The film is in conversation with all of those things.”
Get ready to dance with the Devil. Sinners will bare its fangs in theaters nationwide on April 18.
