Three years after the Jurassic World trilogy roared to a close, the franchise is evolving in an exciting new direction with Jurassic World: Rebirth. The long-awaited trailer is here, teasing an action-packed movie that takes us back to where it all began. It also introduces us to a new hybrid creature that looks like something out of Star Wars.
Scarlett Johansson, Emmy and SAG nominee Jonathan Bailey, and two-time Oscar winner Mahershala Ali star. This action-packed adventure takes viewers to a secluded island research facility home to the most dangerous dinosaurs.
Rupert Friend and Manuel Garcia-Rulfo also star. Gareth Edwards (Rogue One: A Star Wars Story) directs the film, which is based on a script by David Koepp, the original Jurassic Park screenwriter.
Five years after the events of Jurassic World: Dominion, the planet’s ecosystem has proven largely inhospitable to dinosaurs. The remaining creatures exist in isolated equatorial regions with climates reminiscent of their prehistoric habitats. Within this tropical biosphere, the DNA of the three creatures holds the key to a life-saving drug for humankind.
Johansson stars as Zora Bennett, a skilled covert operations expert tasked with leading the top-secret mission. However, Zora’s operation collides with a family whose boat is capsized by aquatic dinosaurs. They find themselves stranded on the forbidden island. There, they uncover a sinister secret hidden for decades.
Ali plays Duncan Kincaid, Zora’s most trusted team member. Bailey, known for Wicked and “Bridgerton,” portrays paleontologist Dr. Henry Loomis. Friend (Homeland and Obi-Wan Kenobi) appears as Big Pharma representative Martin Krebs, and Garcia-Rulfo (The Lincoln Lawyer and Murder on the Orient Express) plays Reuben Delgado, the father of the shipwrecked family.
Rounding out the cast are Luna Blaise (Manifest), David Iacono (The Summer I Turned Pretty), and Audrina Miranda (Lopez vs. Lopez) as Reuben’s family. The film also features Philippine Velge (Station Eleven), Bechir Sylvain (BMF), and Ed Skrein (Deadpool).
Jurassic World: Rebirth is directed by BAFTA winner Edwards from a script by Koepp, based on characters created by Michael Crichton.
Frank Marshall and Patrick Crowley, producers of the Jurassic franchise and last summer’s blockbuster Twisters, are producing the film. Steven Spielberg, Denis L. Stewart, and Jim Spencer serve as executive producers.
