Wednesday Addams (Jenna Ortega) is back, and she’s not playing games. A new teaser from Season 2 shows Wednesday visiting her nemesis, Tyler (Hunter Doohan), in the asylum. The haunting footage sets the stage for a thrilling new season, premiering in 2025.
Wednesday’s journey is darker and more complex this season as she navigates life, new mysteries, and old adversaries.” showrunners and executive producers Al Gough and Miles Millar teased to Tudum.
Emma Myers, Joy Sunday, Catherine Zeta-Jones, and Luis Guzmán (Gomez) all return, along with director and executive producer Tim Burton.
Gough and Millar’s words echo Zeta-Jones’s sentiments. The executive producers said, “We look forward to exploring more Addams Family lore and are excited to introduce an eclectic lineup of incredible new characters. “
So, what awaits everyone’s favorite morbid teen? And which new characters will join Wednesday’s upcoming adventures? The series will continue to follow Wednesday’s supernatural investigations at Nevermore Academy. “Season 2 will be delightfully dark, kooky, and mysterious,” Gough and Millar revealed. “If we told you why, Wednesday would kill us. So our lips are sealed.”
Ortega will reprise her role as Wednesday – part-time detective, mystery author, and full-time outcast. Ortega will also serve as a producer. Myers (Enid), Sunday (Bianca), Moosa Mostafa (Eugene), Georgie Farmer (Ajax), and Naomi J. Ogawa (Yoko) will return alongside Ortega.
Zeta-Jones (Morticia), Guzmán (Gomez), Isaac Ordonez (Pugsley), and Luyanda Unati Lewis-Nyawo (Deputy Ritchie Santiago) have been promoted to series regulars. Jamie McShane (Sheriff Donovan Galpin) and Fred Armisen (Uncle Fester) will also return in guest-starring roles.
Wednesday’s world expands in Season 2 with a host of new series regulars: Steve Buscemi (known for The Big Lebowski and Boardwalk Empire), Billie Piper (Scoop, I Hate Suzie), Evie Templeton (Return to Silent Hill, Lord of Misrule), Owen Painter (Tiny Beautiful Things, The Handmaid’s Tale), and Noah Taylor (Law & Order: Organized Crime, Park Avenue).
And that’s not all! A roster of guest stars will also appear, including Lady Gaga, Addams Family actor Christopher Lloyd, Joanna Lumley (Fool Me Once), Thandiwe Newton (Westworld), Frances O’Connor (The Missing), Haley Joel Osment (The Kominsky Method), Heather Matarazzo (Scream), and Joonas Suotamo.
Season one saw Wednesday, clever, sarcastic, and a little dead inside, investigate murders while navigating the complexities of friendships and rivalries at Nevermore Academy—season two promises to delve even deeper into Wednesday’s world and the mysteries surrounding her.
